Wine Update!

So, we’ve been having the wine stay outside for a while. Been trying to occasionally fix the large amounts from exploding over the sides. Yep, seems like 3 inches from the top wasn’t enough for these powerful grapes. When they get squished and form a team, they’re mighty!! We had to take some of the tops of the smashed pulp from a few jars and create another jar all of it’s own.

Okay, so it’s been a few weeks now, so our plight continues. We have strained all of the pulp from the jars, rinsed the jars and filled only 2 half-way with the remaining liquid drained from 4 extremely large pickle jars and one very small pickle jar. We’ve taken and added 1/3 cup per quart of sugar (hope that helps you at home). Now, we’ll stir every one or two days for another week. Then, we’ll add more sugar if necessary and cap for a couple of months and store under the house (in a dark and cool place).

I’ll try to let you guys know what’s next….hope we’re getting a couple of glasses out of this…

About amrecipes

My love of cooking has taken over. I was on the net one day and saw an ad for a recipe contest. I entered. Then, I entered another. Then another, and so on and when I won a contest... an entire year's worth of tomato products, I was hooked. Since then, I've entered many many different recipe contests. I have won a trip to New York, entries into cook-offs, a recipe published in a Kraft/Paula Deen cookbook and many food products and food related items. I enjoy cooking and entering recipe contests. I hope I spark an interest in others to create something they can be proud of. I'm always getting more ideas from the internet. Wow, I remember not having the internet years ago. It's a God send and I'm trying to cover every inch of the food sites!! Join me in my quest to keep fresh ideas flowing and creating new and exciting dishes.
